Why Nicaragua?

World Orphans believes that transformation and restoration in every aspect of life is best accomplished through the limitless power of the Gospel. That’s why we partner with a gospel-centered organization in Nicaragua, an organization caring for children with special needs. The organization is uniquely suited to shine the light of Christ into the lives of children often forgotten in Nicaragua so that they can experience the fullness of Christ’s love and redemption.

Program Overview

About our work in Nicaragua

We partner with Tesoros de Dios, an organization that exists to promote the wholistic development of children with disabilities and strengthen partnerships with families, churches, and communities. Through non-residential therapy, Tesoros de Dios facilitates programs for early intervention, skills development, special education, autism, transitional care, palliative care, and vocational training. Our partnership supports outreach to local churches and communities, providing education and training on how to support, care for, and disciple these families of children with disabilities.

Funding

Funding for this program comes from church partnership. This funding provides for the role of the Outreach Director, responsible for overseeing training, developing church and community engagement, and gospel-centered discipleship for families of children with disabilities.
