November 6th was Orphan Sunday, a day when hundreds of churches around the world gathered to pray and advocate for the orphan. To give a voice to those who so often, are not heard.
We loved seeing what some of our World Orphans partner churches did.
First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Ark. put together this display to showcase their partnership with Father’s Divine Ministries in Uganda.
Father’s Divine Love Ministries is located on the edge of an area that suffers from great poverty and a high incidence of HIV/AIDS. Pastor David Livingstone Zijjan and his wife, Sarah, are leading their church to serve in some very meaningful ways, with outreach ministries targeting needs in the community. They are specifically responding and caring for orphaned, abandoned, and at-risk children through their food and clothing provisions for extended families caring for orphaned children and through their children’s home. Their children’s homes, located on church property, provide shelter, food, medical care, counseling, and, most importantly, the love of a family for 58 children.
Durham Evangelical Church in Durham, New Hampshire is partnered with a World Orphans project in Haiti. They made this great display to educate the church on the difference they are making.
