Effective communication is a difficult balance. In the world we live in today, information is readily available, with the tools to access it and receive it seemingly endless. Our access to and desire for information has never been greater, and yet, as individuals, the preference for pace and quantity varies greatly.
World Orphans is seeking balance. We seek to tell our story often enough for you to know what God is doing through this ministry, without feeling bombarded with too much information or too many financial requests. Yes, we do need your financial support, but we know that God is the ultimate provider and that He will meet our needs and grow this ministry according to His plans. Our job is to tell our story, and to do that well.
So, here’s what you can expect from us in the coming year:
We will send a monthly e-newsletter that will include short stories about who we are, what we’re doing, who is engaged in the work, and a quote or two. It’ll be easy to view stories and highlights that you can read further as you choose. These won’t be appeals – just us telling our story.
We have the tremendous provision of donated printing services available to us, which is an amazing and generous gift! With that, we’ll be mailing a quarterly magazine-like news piece focusing on stories of the churches we serve, children rescued, and unique ways people are connecting with World Orphans. There will be two other special mail pieces this year—our annual report and a Christmas greeting.
For those who prefer more regular contact and interaction, please join us on Facebook and Twitter. We would love for you to be part of those conversations.
The World Orphans blog features weekly stories from and about staff members. Drop in at your convenience for some “in-the-field” perspective and to get to know us a little better.
So, please watch for these things. Follow our e-newsletter for a couple of months, check out the magazine, read a blog story or two. We hope you will enjoy the pace and variety of options. And, if you think it’s too much, too often, too little, or not the right stuff – let us know! Of course, you always have the option to unsubscribe or remove yourself from our mailings—we want to honor you and your preferences. We do think you will find both the information and frequency beneficial, interesting, and worthwhile.
Thank you for making room in your inbox for us. We promise not to take that for granted.
